After more than a decade on air, Directo USA received a complete visual refresh for CNN en Español. Hosted by Juan Carlos Lopez, the daily news program covers the most important stories and developments across the United States for Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide.
Directo USA open animation:
The new Directo USA visual identity is built around the idea of direction — both geographically and editorially.
Inspired by the show's name, a network of flowing arrows travels across an embossed map of the United States, symbolizing the movement of information and the stories shaping the nation. The journey begins at the Lincoln Memorial, representing the voice of the people, and moves through the National Mall, passing the Washington Monument and key landmarks before arriving at the U.S. Capitol — the symbolic destination where policy, decisions, and national conversations converge.
As part of the CNN International Design team, I contributed extensively to the creative development, motion language, and final on-air execution of the package, helping transform the show's visual identity into a modern, dynamic, and architecturally inspired broadcast experience.
